Good Problem Sovling Skills

Posted by: mirian

Education, internships and trade schools are meant to train people to do certain task with skills they have developed and further enhance through college and practice.  A good school to have is the skill to solve problems "good problem solving skills".  People who are able to  maintain their patience before any other situation are able to  analyze the problem and come up with a solution.

These people also have a lot of confidence in themselves, knowing that there is always going to be a person against their opinion, they are able to express what they feel and they end up solving the problem that was in their way.

Here are four small steps of problem solving skills.

1.) Defining the problem

2.) Generating Alternatives

3.) Evaluating and selecting alternatives

4.)Implementing Solutions

By following these four small rules, you might end up surprised to see what you can achieve.

Good Attitude vs. Bad Attitude

Posted by: mirian

Attitude: Manner,disposition, position, feeling.

You have probably heard of attitude problems, however attitude is not always a negative thing, in some cases attitude is what takes a person to success in achieving their goals.   When a person perseveres, works hard and stays optimistic, that person is said to have a POSITIVE attitude.  However, not everyone can have a positive attitude, there are those who have are said to have short tempers and impatience.  These people are said to have a NEGATIVE attitude.  A bad attitude can affect social, personal and professional life.  A person with a good attitude is often stress free and is more likely to succeed in what they want.  While a person a negative attitude, is more likely to fail at achieving their goals or it might even affect his or her social life.

Everybody loves to sleep!  There's not one person I know who does enjoy waking up from a good night sleep, energized and refreshed.  After all, getting a good nights sleep has many benefits.  Not getting enough sleep can work against you, you become more susceptible to becoming sick.

Not only will you be less likely to get sick, your heart will be thankful as well, it has been shown that if you get between 7 and 9 hours of sleep a night, it can help your blood pressure and cholesterol levels.  Sleep also reduces stress of a persons daily life, however, not getting enough sleep can cause even more stress.   Sleep can also make you more alert of everything around you.

A person is more committed to what they do in their daily life, they get more involved and they notice things faster around them. Believe it or not, sleep can also help you loose weight, stress can lead to depression, which can lead to irregular eating habits such as overeating or not eating enough.   Getting enough sleep lets your body know what amount of food you need.  Napping also improves your memory and your mood.

So nap regularly, sleep between 7-9 hours and enjoy a more happy and healthy you.

Community Service, is it Really Needed?

Community service is a service that is done for the benefits of the public, or institutions. Community service can be done in various locations, such as, a neighborhood library, hospitals, retirement homes, or non-profit organizations.  Acts such as cleaning a park, collecting items for charity like clothing, food and furniture, helping the police or fire service department, or tutoring kids with learning disabilities can be considered types of community services.  However, most of these acts are not done voluntarily, many people have to do them for things like:

  • Citizenship requirements.
  • Assigned by courts, alternative sentencing.
  • Graduation requirement for certain schools.
  • Involvement of sports in a school.
  • Colleges.
During the process of becoming a citizen, applicants are required to do community service as part of their requirements.  They do so to show their commitment to bettering their community and themselves.  Alternative sentencing is the form of community service for individuals who have been convicted of a crime.  Instead of serving their term of sentence in a conventional prison,  they are allowed to serve their time in the form of services they will do in their community.   At most schools, community service is a requirement for graduation, many schools do this to encourage their students to give back to their community.  In addition, when students apply to colleges, community service  can differentiate one student from the next.  Also, in some schools, community service is needed for those who play on the school's sport teams, such as football, tennis, track and others.

Time to Kill Time

As the school year gears to an end and everyone officially goes on vacation, teenagers are left with days, weeks and months of time that are not occupied by any structure -- a dream come true -- temporarily. As the vacation progresses, they get bored and annoyed because they can't find nothing else to do.

If you find yourself in one of these situations don't worry, there are billions and trillions of activities that will help you rid yourself of boredom.

Exercising is one fun and healthy way you can utilize your time in the summer.   Exercising occupies your body and mind  and you can have that satisfaction of seeing the results you have made from your hard work.  Not only is it a good way to stay in shape, exercise also releases stress and frustration.

Another fun and easy way to keep your mind occupied is changing up your daily routines, such as, going out at a restaurant or mall that you have not or usually don't go to, plan a trip somewhere, or join a club to meet new people.  In my opinion art is one inspiring and motivating way to spend some free time.   Starting is the most difficult, but once you get into the practice of drawing your skills will definitely improve.  Photography is also a very interesting medium to work with.
