The iPad, the newest gadgets from Apple has been released on January 27, 2010.  Many people have called it a blown up version of the iPod touch and it does look like it. Its characteristic are the same from the touch screen to the center home button, but what is really the difference between the iPod and the iPad?

Many people say there is not much of a difference because they both do pretty much the same thing. They both let you surf the web, use apps,  mail, photos, videos, and youtube. Even thought they do share those common traits there is a difference. For the iPod there  is a limit to how much of the page of a website you can see, with the iPad it will be possible to see the whole website. Since the screen is a  high-resolution, 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display that allows you to see the whole website and read the words perfectly. There is also a split screen when it comes to mail. Now you can see you mail basically the same way you would see it in a computer, if you turn you iPad into landscape position. For the photo part there is not much of a difference the only noticeable difference is the waygraphic of ipad applications the albums are accommodated. They are no longer put into stacks, but now they are stored into folders to be able to easily identify your albums. The video portion offers the ability to see all videos, podcast, and movies in HD unlike the iPod. There has been a major change in the youtube app. There is a different app offered for the iPad. It makes it look more like the computer version and they are all offered in HD. Lastly, all apps available for the iPod can be downloaded to the iPad, but there will be apps exclusively offered only for the iPad.

Overall, even though the iPad does offer many traits seen in the iPod there are slight differences that make it seem more like a mini pc.

A logo of adobe flashplayerThis seems to work perfectly fine on Firefox 2.0, 3, 3.5, and 3.6

Have you ever had a computer at home where you are not the administrator and downloading software to the computer is not possible. Firefox needs flash plug in to work at is best.

Installing Flash Player the "standard" way by clicking on missing plug ins is not possible to install, but here are is a way to install Flash Player without having administrator privileges.

Here are the steps:

  • Download the XPI archive of the Flash Player Plugin to your hard disk (right click on the download link then "Save link as.."). XPI archives are only ZIP files containing the files used by the plugins.
  • Rename the file you just downloaded, called flashplayer-win.xpi, into flashplayer-win.zip (you are changing its extension from .xpi to .zip)
  • Extract the files in the archive. You can use any program capable of opening .zip files (WinZip, WinRAR or the free and great 7-zip). There are also websites which can uncompress archives.
  • Copy the files flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll to %APPDATA%MozillaPlugins
  • Restart Firefox
  • Use Flash Player

T3Desk for Windows

Posted by: aparez

Tagged in: technology

For those windows user that want to spice up the way their Windows management, T3 Desk is here to help. With an alt-tab alternative that gives a 3D look and more. T3Desk works for all versions of Windows, but it has been more popular in Vista where it can take advantage of Aero. Once T3Desk is installed then you can use keyboard shortcut to minimize and maximize windows by arranging them in pseudo-3D fashion. There are also tweaks to make windows be angled, animated, arrange level of transparency, and the distance of where you seen the screen. You can drag windows and dock them to the four sides of the monitor, use Aero Peek to see which windows are on the virtual desktop, and set an always include/exclude list for applications to easily exclude applications from the effects of T3Desk.T he biggest issue is that it won't work with multiple monitors. All 3D windows are pushed onto the primary monitor. Another minor issue is the inability to customize the application's hot keys. Those complaints aside, it works as promised and provides a novel way to arrange and view open applications.
