Nowadays, it is a very common that there is a computer in just about every household. This means that more and more kids are having access to the internet, are able to post information, and they can see more information as well. Even though there is more access to the internet how much are the parents actually aware of what their child does when they are online? Recently, there has been an increase in cyberbulling. This goes beyond the point of regular school yard bullying. It is information that is posted for everyone to see and will most likely remain uploaded forever.
Cyberbullying is when a child, preteen, or teen is tormented, threatened, harassed, humiliated, embarrassed or otherwise targeted by another child, preteen or teen using the Internet, other technology based devices, or mobile phones. Cyberbulling has to be e a minor on both sides, or a minor against another minor. Once adults become involved, it is cyber-harassment or cyberstalking.
The methods are only as much as the imagination of a child can offer. There is no one way to explain cyberbully and there is no saying who can be targeted and by whom. A cyberbully might eventually become a victim of cyberbully or visa versa. Cyberbulling can go to as much as children killing each other or suicide of the victim. Most of the language used are offensive and can really lower down a child's self esteem. Cyberbullying may result to misdemeanor cyberharrasment chages or juvenile delinquency.
What are the types of cyberbulling?
are done with messages sent to kids directly by the bully, blogs/websites posted about the victim, or anywhere where the bully can have direct conversation with the victim
Cyberbulling by proxy-is using others to help either with their consent or not. these include a broad range of people where people can read and start harassing the victim as well. Most of this is done by handing out private information to others and posting false statements about the victim.
Why do kids cyberbully each other?
There is no straight answer to why kids cyberbully one another. Just as every kid is different there are different reasons why a kid cyberbullies. The most common reason is because they are motivated by anger, want revenge, or are frustrated. There are others who do it because they are bored, have too much time in their hands, and have the technology.
How to stop it.
Cyberbulling is hard to stop since there is no one solution to this problem Each problem is different and methods to preventing it can differ. There can be methods of prevention that can help. One of the most common is done trough ISPs who have a way of telling on users who are saying inappropriate things and can kick someone offline for some time. Another way, is by parents becoming more aware of what their children are doing when they are online and teaching them about respecting others.
Most users of an iPod Touch or an iPhone have heard of a jail broken device and all the extra custom software that can be added to it. Jailbreaking opens a broad range of apps that the itunes store has not allowed in its apps store. Almost all of the jailbroken apps for iPhone and iTouch are the same one except the video camera and picture apps since the iTouch does not have a camera.
So what is jailbreaking?
Jailbreaking is the process one goes through which allows the installation of unofficial third-party. These unofficial applications are usually more useful then the official Apple approved apps found in the App Store. Third-party apps do everything from changing the background and the app icon images. Another popular reason to why most devices are jailbroken are for the games. There are emulators for the most popular game such and Super Nintendo and Gameboy games. You can set up your iPhone to look like a Gameboy. The Apple store would not allow this and if they did it would not be free. In a jailbroken iPhone it is.
Is jailbreaking illegal?
Jailbreaking is not illegal but it does void your warranty. when you buy a brand new iPhone they all have a one year manufacturer warranty but jailbreaking it will void it. That means that whatever happens to you devices hardware is under your responsibility and the Apple store does not have to fix it. There is a small chance for your iPhone to become bricked but most likely there will be an easy solution to this. By holding the home and power button at the same time while it is connected to your computer will most likely restore your device back to its original settings. Most of the creators of third party apps do not own copyrights to the gmes they are creating. If this becomes an issue most apps can be easily deleted or restoring and iPhone will solve this.
Jailbreaking is for those who want a little more from their device. If you are happy with what you got keep it as it is, but if you want a little more then maybe jailbreaking can help you with that.
Most people believe you need to reinstall Windows operating system regularly to keep it running at top performance, but to what extend is this belief true?
To many users Windows slows down over time and many don't know how to prevent the problem. Your PC wont slow down if you just take care of your it a little more. A few simple procedures you won't have to spend hours backing up data, installing from disc, and re-installing your essential applications.
So what's the problem?
The inevitable is going to happen some day and your Windows PC will slow down over time, but there can be many things that can be done to delay the process as much as possible. What really is affecting your PC is the fact that there are too many things that are clogging up the memory and waste CPU cycles. Having unnecessary low level programs/applications or running more than one antivirus at a time really slows down Windows. The last thing that would really slow down your PC is running out of space in the hard drive.
The main problem is not the PC its the PC user that is filling up the computer with many junk files. In other words, its the person who uses the PC who has not taken care of the Windows PC as best as possible.
What to do?
The first thing is to stop installing junk programs/applications to your PC. This is like you eating candy all day and feeling sick after it. This is the same effect junk applications have on a PC it makes it get sick and if it is sick it wont be able to perform as efficiently as before. Junk applications come with DLL files that only clog up space on the hard drive. They add always-resident Windows services when they don't need to, bloat up your registry, and add useless icons to your system tray that waste even more memory and CPU cycles. A few junk application may be ok, but the more you add up on a PC the greater the effect and the more a PC will slow down.
What to look out for.
install official system drivers- from the manufacturer website. Drivers have a huge impact on performance, and you want to have stable, updated drivers.
Apps that function as an Explorer plug-in- they directly hook into the shell and any problem will make your entire PC slow or crash repeatedly.
Registry cleaners- wont really speed up your PC in most cases. They, however, set themselves to run at startup in the system tray, wasting your memory and CPU cycles.
Antivirus applications- you should never use more than one real-time antivirus application at a time. Most recommend Microsoft Security Essentials as a free, fast, antivirus tool.
Look out for anything that says it will "Speed Up Your PC" or "Optimize Your RAM" this will most likely slow your PC
Last step.
Try and keep your computer clean feeding it only healthy, useful applications. Clean up your computers temporary files, your download folder, and defrag your computer every now and then. Simple things like this can go a long way into the health of your PC.
There is a new buzz about the latest iPhone but there is an even bigger buzz about its dummy. This looks and feels like the the iPhone. The only quirk about this "iPhone dummy" is, it does not work. The dummy is a nonfunctional version of the iPhone, but many people are finding it to be an awesome toy. Over a million has been sold! Buyers of the iPhone dummy use it to prank their friends, their parents, and even total strangers. Try one out and see what you can do. A little imagination goes a long way and if you are as creative as the makers of the iPhone dummy you might be able to come up with something even better.
Today, while walking from school I passed a sign that had gas prices listed and behind that sign there is a cop on a motorcycle hiding behind it. I have walked through these streets for many years and never have a seen a cop standing there. He was looking at the traffic waiting for the next victim. I feel like they are the tigers and we are the pray and a little mistake they see they will flash their lights at us. So as I was walking, the cop suddenly drove out and flashed the lights at one car. Since this was a few feet away from where I was I could clearly see why the cop was going after this car. The driver was on the phone and quickly ended her conversation when she saw the cop. Now here in California, it is now against the law to talk/text while driving. I can consider myself a decent texter since I can text at a pretty good speed, but there are others that can text faster than me. I have seen a few around who are texting all the time and it looks like they have their phones glued to their hands. I started driving about a year ago and I have to be a cautious driver since I know my parents will hit the ceiling if I get a ticket. I am not the only out there that have started to drive there are other too. We can all drive now since we hit the wonderful age of 16 and have been able to get a permit. So this means no more rides from older friends, having to wait for mom and dad to come home to give us a ride, and best of all more freedom. Even though driving comes with a lot of privileges there are a lot of responsibilities too. Lately, there has been an increase in accidents involving people texting and driving and reports have show that most are teens. This is more than a simple ticket but texting/talking can lead to major accidents and even death. A single second can change a persons life forever. So if you want to text do it just not while driving and if you are going to talk buy a Bluetooth they may look funny, but it just may save your life.
